CRAZY WEEK!

Image
Hey everyone, this week has been crazy! Working in the Mission office is a completely different experience. On Tuesday our day was pretty simple. We woke up, and left the flat to go to Cardiff to furnish an entire new flat for some missionaries moving in. We built Ikea furniture from 9am-8pm. It was actually a lot of fun! When we were building a bunk bed we realized at a certain point that we had built it backwards, and it was too late to change it. If you want a good laugh, look at the Bunk bed pic down below. Thursday was thanksgiving which was great. We woke up, and we had a Turkey Bowl! We had to teach Elder Hemi(from New Zealand) and Elder Costello(from England) how to play American Football. It was such a blast. Also everyone in the office got invited to a Thanksgiving meal in the Afternoon. That night we had to start setting up for MLC that was the next morning. It was a ton of stuff to do. I had never set up audio or hooked up to multiple Tv's before, so it was a learning e...

DRIVING SOON!

Image
Hey Everyone, this won't be a very long email but it was a good week! I got transfer news right after I sent my last email, and I got transferred to Bristol. I was sad about leaving Merthyr and Wales in General, but Bristol is a beautiful city! At our last Member Dinner, Elder Jaccod from Italy, serenaded all of us to singing "Love one another" in Italian. It was a good time! So my P day is actually switched to Saturday now so that will be a bit of an adjustment. I am going to have to start driving soon which is definitely going to be the biggest change.  Something I have noticed this week is the benefit of taking quality to pray. Instead of waiting to pray at night next to my bed, I have started doing it a little bit earlier so I have more time to think and so I am more alert. It's so cool, because the effort we show our Heavenly Father, shows him how much we care! It has changed the way I have thought about my prayers, and I feel so close to him! Elder Wilhelmsen 1....

SWANSEA

This week was so busy but it was so good! Interviews were this week which was great. President Gallacher is pretty awesome. I am honestly so thankful for both of the Mission Presidents that I have had so far. President Eyre changed my life, and President Gallacher is doing the same.  On Wednesday I was able to do exchanges with an Elder in my District. We had a super cool miracle. We had walked an hour to a lesson with a returning member at night. Afterwards we prayed about where the Lord needed us next. We felt like we needed to go to a returning member's home not too far away. She wasn't home, but on the way back I felt super prompted to go knock on a random door. We knocked and as it turns out, it was the house of a less active member, and the rest of the family weren't members. The dad wouldn't let us in for a message but once we got talking he offered us a lift back to our flat. We got to know him a lot better and now we may be able to go back and share a message!...

WALKING

Image
Hey Everyone, this week has been exhausting but it has been so good! Since my area is a walking area, we have to be super effective at planning our days. This week we ended up walking around 8 miles a day which has been a ton. I'll attach a pic of one of the hills. It has been amazing though to see the Lord putting people in our Path. We had no choice this week, other than to go get some more fish and chips from our favorite place. I think they are going to start knowing us by name here pretty soon! One huge miracle this week was when I was able to go on Exchanges with Elder Jaccod (Shu-coh). He is from Italy and is still learning English, and he is hilarious. One of our lessons fell through and we felt prompted to walk an hour up a hill to get to a Less Active members house. We walked there in the pouring down rain, and the member was home. We talked to her, and she actually ended up telling us a lot of Anti-Joseph Smith stuff, and a story that she had been shown. Neither of us ha...

APOSTLES

Hey Everyone, this is going to be a bit of a quicker email, but this week has been amazing! First off, this past Friday was easily the best day of my mission so far. We got up at 6am and got on a bus that took us to London. We got there and took a picture with our mission and President Ballard, Elder Holland, and Elder Cook. We then walked over to the Hyde Park Chapel in the middle of London. The Mission Conference with 3 Apostles was so amazing. Elder Holland stated that the meeting we attended was, "The most important meeting happening on the face of the Planet that day". I was able to learn so many things, and the spirit was so strong there. Growing up listening to President Ballard talk I always had trouble connecting with his Talks because I thought he was a bit Monotone. I think he may be one of my favorite speakers now! Hope everyone had a great week! 1-2. ARROW IS POINTING TO ME 3-5. London 6-7.Hyde Park Chapel 8.We got Nandos 9. President Ballard pulling up
