Agents VS Objects And Asking Inspired Questions

Hey Everyone,  This week was pretty good. There's a lot of zone conferences and exchanges. With the formation of the England Bristol Mission in a couple of weeks, it's been crazy. I'll only describe the highlight of the week and the name of the email. We have been learning recently about the power of helping people be agents and not objects, or acting instead of being acted upon. On Friday when we got back from all of our exchanges, we had a lesson with a new person we found last Sunday named Connie. It was pretty cool because we found her while looking for the home of a member we hadn't met. We taught the Restoration on Friday and it was powerful. As I had mentioned about being an agent, we did our best to help her not be an object. When she would ask us a question, we would not just simply give her the answer or tell her what to do(as to not make her an object). We would acknowledge the question and then ask an inspired question in return based on her question. As she...

EXCHANGES

Image
Hey Everybody, This week was another wild one, but so awesome. On Monday we had meetings all day, and then right after dinner we drove 3 hours down to a small town/village called Holsworthy for an exchange. We did exchanges all day Tuesday which was awesome. I was with Elder Cordero, and he is such a good guy. At one point 4 of us missionaries had a lesson with this Lady named Bet. Since her dog goes crazy when guests are over, we taught her while walking on this pathway in the forest. We were teaching the restoration, and it was such a powerful experience. As we got to the first vision, something about being in a grove of trees made it so special. As Elder Christensen shared Joseph Smith's account of seeing our Heavenly Father, and his Son Jesus Christ, the spirit was spine tingling. Wednesday morning we got up and drove an hour down to Exeter for a Zone Conference. It was so powerful, and there was a big focus on Confidence in the work and Unity. President and Sister Gallacher ta...

NO SLEEP

Image
Hey Everyone, This week was really good! I have gotten absolutely no sleep this week hahaha. This past week we have had to give 7 trainings to missionaries, including training at MLC, and also had Exchanges. I don't think I've been able to be in bed before midnight this entire week because there is so much to do and plan. It's been weird being back in Bristol, but I love it. It's been cool to learn from the President again. So in the past at the MLC meeting, people have often given training on different subjects, and then the President will usually ask them what that would look like in a lesson and they will freeze up and not know. To fix that we called certain companionships to ask them to give training, and said that they needed to train in a way that someone could role play it right after. What they didn't know was that when it got to that time, we announced that they wouldn't be giving a training, but that they would be showing it through a role play in fron...
