Portuguese

Hey Everyone, This week was pretty great. I am staying for another transfer in the great Promised land that is Merthyr Tydfil. This transfer will be shorter though, only 5 weeks. It's weird that after this short one, I only have 3 more to go until I'm home.  We got some pretty crazy news this week. In July, a new mission is being created, the England Bristol Mission. It's not a name change, there will still be an England Birmingham mission, but it will be more up north. So for my Last transfer, I will either be in the England Bristol Mission and keep my mission President, or I could get sent up to the North and be a part of what will be the England Birmingham mission. Who knows! We are teaching someone from Brazil that speaks only Portuguese and Spanish. One of the Elders here in Merthyr is from Portugal, so every Saturday he goes on splits with one of us to teach her. I went this time, and it was so interesting. I have never felt more useless in my life! I have a lot of re...

Exchange After Exchange

Hey Everyone, this has been a crazy week. I don't know if I'm getting transferred or not, we will find out tonight. Last P day we hiked Pen-y-fan, a great view, and it was so much fun. On Tuesday I went on Exchanges with Elder Hansen. We did a ton of street contacting, and we were able to find 4 new people to teach, and hand out 4 copies of the Book of Mormon. It was sweet. That night we drove to Newcastle Emlyn and had exchanges with those Elders. It was great, we worked in the coastal town of Cardigan. Saturday we had Exchanges with the other Elders in Merthyr. I was with Elder Hope who is from London. We had a ton of fun and found a lot of success. I was able to learn so much from all of these missionaries I was with.  Josh, who is preparing for Baptism, showed up to church with a white shirt and tie. He is so ready to be Baptized. Down below is a conversation we had with him on Facebook. Today we went to Rhossili Beach, and hiked to a really cool peninsula, got some lunch a...

The Nissan Note

Hey Everyone, this week was really good!  We have done a lot of street contacting this week, and you meet the most interesting people. One such occasion we were talking to a really nice guy on high street, and then out of nowhere a guy came up and asked if he could ask us a question. We knew exactly what that meant, since almost everyone here hates us and doesn't believe in God, so no one ever approaches us. he proceeded to bash us for 15 minutes without allowing us to speak. At one point, I just looked him in the eye and said, "Thank you so much for letting us know, we hope you have a great day". About 3 minutes later, another guy came up asking if he could heal us, and said if we touched his hand we would feel the Holy Ghost. We politely declined Crazy stuff, but it was so funny! The Sisters that live near us, their car got messed up, so the President told them, "Switch with the Elders, let them go get it fixed." So this week we spent some time driving to Card...
