BLUE CHEESE!

Hey Everyone, this was another great week! First off, to explain the title. We had a member take us to Barro's, which is a really good pizza place down here. They ordered some cinnamon sticks for dessert with the Glaze to put on top. After they brought it out, we all grabbed a few and smothered them in the glaze. I started eating, and was like, "Why is this glaze sour?". They had given us Blue Cheese dressing instead hahaha! Also this week we had a pretty funny experience knocking doors this week. There is a door we had knocked in the past that said we could come back. We knocked on the door and a teenager answered. We asked if Tania or Todd were there, and they said they would go check. After a few minutes, they came back and said Tania and Todd weren't home. When we asked when we could come back to talk to them, the teenager responded, "Let me go ask them". :) Our Mission President and Wife invited us over for dinner last night, and it was fantastic. Siste...

Well, it is with a sad heart that I said goodbye to your son today (we have interviews the next two weeks and I might but see him again before he gets on the plane). We had him over for dinner and I made the dish you make that he loves-your Italian cream cheese crockpot chicken. It was so delicious and all the missionaries loved it! I took a picture of him with it. I just have to gush about your son (because who better to gush than to you, right?). He is not only an amazing missionary, but his gentle kindness and cute personality really make him remarkable. Whenever Brik and I are at stake conferences, or other wards, or around the senior couples, or other missionaries, your son's name comes up often. He is well loved and well respected. I have no doubt he will be a fabulous missionary in England and that he will love it there, but I will miss him horribly though! Thank you for raising such a fine young man and for sharing him with us. I look forward to seeing al...
JULIE!

Hey Everyone, this week was awesome. First off, Julie got Baptized! It was such an amazing experience. Almost the entire program was done by recent Converts, so the Testimonies were powerful. She asked one of us Missionaries to Give her the Holy Ghost, and since Elder Smith has been out less than two weeks we asked him to do it. We only met Julie 2 and a half weeks ago, and it has been amazing to see her faith grow through the experience. One thing that teaching her did for me was strengthen my testimony in proper Priesthood Authority. This is not trying to knock on other churches, but I want to tell exactly what she told us: "I was Baptized a month or two ago into another church that the family I live with was going to. I was so excited because Baptism was a giant step for me. When I went down and came up out of the water, I felt nothing. In fact, I was expecting it to feel a lot like when someone from your church came by and gave me a Priesthood Blessing. When I got one of thos...

Hey Everyone, this week has been so awesome! I am still in a Trio until I leave for England, and it has been super fun training for the 3rd time. Also, I just realized that I hit my Year mark a few days ago, so that's wild! I'll just start off with what happened on Saturday. We walked up to a guy on the street and started talking to him, and he immediately started Bashing. Both of my companions started to argue back a little bit, and it was doing nothing. I just had to swallow my pride, and tell him we had to go but hoped he had a fantastic day. Right after that, We had Elder Smith(Brand New), lead when we were knocking doors. We knocked around 10 doors, and probably 7 or 8 of them slammed shut before we could introduce ourselves. I spent most of the rest of the night trying to keep everyone in high spirits. Thinking back on that, and hitting my year mark, I think that the Scripture Alma 31:38 sums up my mission so far. Alma 31:38 "38 And the Lord provided for them that ...

Hey Everyone, This has been a wild week! So on Tuesday we were driving to an appointment and we get a call from our Mission President. The conversation went something like this... "Hey President, How's it going?" "It's going good. I hope you're okay with me making your life a little more complicated" "That sounds great, we were actually about to call you and see if you could make our lives more complicated" "Hahaha... Well one of the Elders you live with will be going home tomorrow, so you are going to join areas with Elder Martin for the next week. You will be covering all 4 Wards." So on Tuesday afternoon we found out, and Wednesday Morning at 5am we were up getting ready so we could have the missionary going home to the mission office in time. Because of such short notice, we didn't have time to coordinate our schedules so we have been teaching like 8 lessons a day this past week. It has been wild, but so much fun Our schedule...
