LAST EMAIL

Hey Everyone, This is officially my last week as a missionary. It's kind of weird to be honest, I don't think it's actually set in. This week was a little bit more chill than the previous weeks. We actually stayed in Bristol, so I got adequate rest. We mainly have just been gearing up for transfers next week. Reflecting on the past 2 years, I have realized something very simple. BECAUSE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS TRUE, IT WILL ALL WORK OUT. Whatever you may be going through, it will work out. It's hard to explain, but it just will.  If you are looking for a reason to leave the church or draw farther away from the Savior, you will find it. If you are looking for a reason to have faith and stay in the church, you will find it. The question is, what are you looking for? Thanks everyone for the emails, support, and prayers. If you want my phone number or to come to my Homecoming talk, send me a message on messenger! Elder Wilhelmsen

Last Set Of Exchanges

Hey Everyone,  This my Second to last P-day today, so it's kind of Crazy. It was a good one though. I was not in my area a single moment this week On Monday after our meetings we drove straight down to Portsmouth for Exchanges. I was with Elder Olsen, who is actually my 3rd Cousin. It was so much fun! We had Zone Conference on Wednesday, which was my last Zone Conference of my mission. I learned a lot, but I had a tough time watching President Gallacher train for the last time. I'm gonna miss that. Straight afterwards, we went to Yeovil for more exchanges. While street contacting, we were in the middle of talking to someone who was Muslim, and a guy came up and started cussing us out. It was pretty cool because the Muslim guy stood up for us and made this guy leave. Some of the kindest people I've ever met are Muslim We woke up Thursday and had to drive 5 hours to make it to a District Council down in St Austell which is a very pretty area. We had to be back to Bristol that...

NOT IN THE AREA

Hey Everyone, This has been a crazy week! The last two weeks and this upcoming week.  We leave Monday night after our meetings and don't get back until Thursday night. On Tuesday I was back in Merthyr Tydfil the Promised Land. I was able to have a lesson with one of my good Friends Josh while there and got Llanfaes, the world's best ice cream. We then drove and I got dropped off in Blackwood. They didn't have a mattress so I slept on the bare wood floor for 2 nights. It was so fun being in Blackwood. We didn't have a car so we bussed and were able to talk to so many people. Unfortunately, I destroyed my neck sleeping on the wood floor While street contacting, I told a lady that I was from the United States and she said she always wanted to go. When I asked what part, she said "Canada". Needless to say, I was speechless. We had another Zone Conference this week. I realized as I applied what I learned, that the more specific in prayer and in questions, the more ...

Bath

Image
Hey Everyone, this week has been really good! Last Saturday we went to Bath and looked at the Cathedral and some of the sights. It was so nice, except for the carnival that was happening. I felt like I was on the Las Vegas Strip honestly. Mostly this week has been transfer planning with the President. It's been cool to learn from his sensitivity to the spirit, and to learn from him lessons I can apply the rest of my life. The coolest experience this week is seeing how the Lord knows our situations and as we simply act in Faith he can work miracles. With the split that just happened things have been so busy, but we have made it a goal to get out and do finding everyday. We have had a couple of days that we only had the last 20 minutes of the day to find, but found a bunch of new people to teach. Even if we only have a couple of hours a week, the Lord can and does seem to fit a week's worth of miracles into a couple of hours. The Lord knows your situation and your heart. Lastly, ...

Hey Everyone,  Sorry I haven't written a weekly in a while, it has been so busy. I'll just hit the highlights -3 times this transfer we have housed 14 missionaries in our flat. We had Zone conferences at Gadfield Elm Chapel, the oldest chapel in the world owned by the church -We are now officially the England Bristol Mission. The split has been crazy. The day after it split we went to Portsmouth and did exchanges with the new zone from the England London Mission. That was our P day, so this is my first p day in two weeks. Also, we went to church in Portsmouth and Bishop Waddell of the Presiding Bishopric happens to show up. Got to shake his hand, talk to him, and he actually asked us for a copy of the Book of Mormon to give to his coach driver. So cool!  -Had interviews which were revelatory and learned a lot about goal setting and Planning. I've learned the principle of being specific in goal setting, planning, and prayers. -Connie is preparing to be Baptized August 5th. S...

Correct Principles

Image
Hey Everyone,  This week was really good! We had MLC this week, so we were busy getting ready for it. To explain the title, this last week I learned something important. True and Correct Gospel Principles can be applied to virtually all facets of life. Let me explain. A couple of weeks ago, the President asked us to rent a Harp for a Concert that is happening on the 23rd-25th. We had tried everything, and had called over 50 harpists and Harp shops in the Area. No luck. It was getting stressful because the concert is about a week away. In MLC on Thursday, the Principle kept sticking out to me that we should not just ask what to do, but study it out in our minds and then ask if it be right(D&C 9:8) Yesterday, we were calling people again desperately trying to find a Harp. We applied the principle. Instead of asking if we could rent a Harp, we presented our plan, how it would work, and the amount of money we wanted to pay, and simply asked if that would work for them. 2 people who...
