DRAGON

Image
Hey Everyone, this was another amazing week!     On Tuesday we were at a member visit with someone from the YSA, and his mom said, "Do you want to see our dragon?" I thought to myself, It's probably time for us to go,  hahaha. Turns out they meant their bearded dragon Lizard, and they weren't going insane. I was able to hold it and it climbed all over me. I think I want one now!     We had a super cool miracle this week as well! For some context, there is someone in our YSA that we have been trying to teach, but he is always busy. For further reference, I have been in this area for over a month, and haven't met him yet. Friday night, I was outside writing in my journal, when I got a very strong prompting we needed to text him right then. I shrugged it off because it was almost 10pm and we usually aren't supposed to text people that late. The feeling returned however so I went in and we texted him asking when we could come over. He responded within 10 minutes t...

Red Robin

Hey everyone,      This week was great!     This may be short because I just got back from a hike, and I am so tired!     On Thursday, my Grandpa and Grandma Hartley, and my Uncle Dan and Aunt Sandy took Elder Pope and I out to Lunch at Red Robin. It was delicious and so good to see them again!     Also on Sunday I gave a talk on charity at our YSA branch. It was a cool experience because it was the first time I have given a talk where I didn't read straight off of a paper.  It was also the first talk I've given where I received spiritual promptings mid talk, and followed them. It was so cool, and afterwards, someone came up that also had an Elder Wilhelmsen name tag. At first, I thought he stole mine, but upon further review, he is also a Wilhelmsen! We are third Cousins, it was so funny!     Not a lot else happened this week, but thanks for all the emails!     Elder Wilhelmsen     1. Me and Elder Wilhelmse...

Elder Pope

Hey everyone,      This week was so good. Saw so many miracles and had so much fun.     On Wednesday we had a zoom call with someone from the YSA. At the end of our message she asked us why we came on our missions, because she was thinking about going on one but wasn't sure. We both talked about and bore testimony on why we came out. She started Crying and getting emotional while thanking us. You could tell she got her answer     Elder Pope almost died this week. Not actually, but basically. We did service on Friday raking up leaves in a dust pile. All of the dust was making Elder Popes allergies act up, and then their dogs came out and apparently he is allergic to those dogs as well. By the time we got home he looked like he got hit by a train. He was in no condition to work, so he took shower and a 2 hour nap. He was a little better, but we had to go to Walmart after a lesson to get some Allergy medication.      Another cool thing is I...

SERVICE

Image
Hey everyone,      This week has been great! It finally hit 100 degrees this week, so that has been an adjustment. We have been doing so much service, it is exhausting. We had to miss the first session of General conference to help someone move, but it's so cool to help people out and serve as Christ would.     This week we went over to the Alger's from the YSA branch's home for one of the sessions of Conference. They are so cool, and have a ton of kids. They made me play the Ukulele for them all before we left hahaha. It was so much fun!     My companion Elder Pope is one of the smartest people I've ever met haha. He is 23, and was a young men's President for 2 years after high school before coming out. He loves video games and loves listening to Music from Kirby Video games.     We also met with this big Samoan offensive lineman that plays football at the local community college. He is a recent convert named Eli. He is so cool, and we were ...
