Slammed!

Image
Hey Everybody,     This week was super busy but awesome!     On Saturday I was on exchanges with Elder Delavan! He is probably the funniest person I've ever met, and the best part is he isn't trying to be funny. I walked into the study room for personal study, and he had a Giant sheet of paper he was looking at with the Lineage of Joseph Smith all the way back to Adam. I'll put a picture below, but it was so funny. I've never seen that before.     This week we also got some more tracting in! We don't do it a lot because it isn't as effective, but we gotta do it a little. I got my first door slammed in my face as well, which stung a bit, but it's all part of the experience!     We were able to do service for a lady named Fay this week. As we were helping her clean out her garage, she said she had a lot of family that had died recently and she didn't have closure. We were able to testify and teach of the Plan of Salvation and were able to start teac...

First Time Tracting

Image
Hey Everyone, This week has been wild but Amazing!     First off, Kristin, who last week texted us that she didn't want to meet again, agreed to let us share one more message with her. We were anxious for that lesson because we felt like there was so much on the line. We went in planning to teach the Restoration, but as we got talking, it was clear she needed the plan of Salvation. It was a miracle. She said what we were teaching answered questions that she has had for years! It went from, "I'll let you come over and share one message" to "Please, please come back". What a turnaround!     Also it was Elder Pope's birthday on Saturday, he turned 24 years old. We were able to start teaching 3 new people, so the lord gave him a great birthday present!     We were able to go tracting this week for the first time. After a dinner appointment this week, I felt prompted we needed to knock some doors. It is a bit intimidating, because you used to learn how to tra...

Lyle's Baptism

Image
Hey everyone, this was a great week!     Yesterday was a wild day. Lyle was able to get baptized! I know I don't talk about the people we are teaching a lot in my emails, but we have been teaching him for a little bit, put him on date and he is now baptized. It was super cool to see how happy he was, and how clean he felt.     Also last night, our mission president told us that we can now street contact and go tracting. If we are fully vaccinated, we don't have to wear masks except in a few places. I get my second shot on the 20th, so I'm excited for that. It also means I can play basketball with the YSA and use it as a way to find people!     We had a cool little miracle this week. We had a lesson with someone we are teaching from the Philippines. Her name is Malou! We had a really spiritual lesson with her, and she is going to read the book of Mormon. It was an hour and 6 minute lesson, and when we got off a box popped up that said, "sorry for the inconve...

6 Paramedics

Image
Hey everyone!     We found out transfer news last night, and Elder Pope and I are both staying! That means I will probably be in this area until August.     This last Tuesday, we went and got our first of two Covid vaccinations at Walmart. Elder Pope doesn't do well with needles and shots so he was prepared to feel a little nauseous. After we both got our shots, they wanted us to stay after for 15 minutes to make sure we were all good. At the end of the 15 minutes they came to tell us we were good to go. I happened to look over at Elder Pope right then, and he looked really nauseous. All of the sudden his eyes rolled back into his head, and he fell out of his chair, smacked his head on the ground, and his body was convulsing for like 5-10 seconds. It was crazy! They called 911 and an ambulance showed up, but he was alright by then. For like 25 minutes he was just laying there in the middle of Walmart with Paramedics around him     Also this week we were abl...
