Slammed!
Hey Everybody,
This week was super busy but awesome!
On Saturday I was on exchanges with Elder Delavan! He is probably the funniest person I've ever met, and the best part is he isn't trying to be funny. I walked into the study room for personal study, and he had a Giant sheet of paper he was looking at with the Lineage of Joseph Smith all the way back to Adam. I'll put a picture below, but it was so funny. I've never seen that before.
This week we also got some more tracting in! We don't do it a lot because it isn't as effective, but we gotta do it a little. I got my first door slammed in my face as well, which stung a bit, but it's all part of the experience!
We were able to do service for a lady named Fay this week. As we were helping her clean out her garage, she said she had a lot of family that had died recently and she didn't have closure. We were able to testify and teach of the Plan of Salvation and were able to start teaching her. It is amazing to be able to help others out!
This week in one of my personal studies, I studied Mosiah 2:41 which says,
"41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it."
I love this scripture, and I learned that the reason we are so happy when we keep the commandments, is because when we do, we always have the Holy Ghost with us. I realized that even when I am getting doors slammed in my face and people are angry that I was on their porch, I was still happy. The Spirit lifts us up whenever we need it, as long as we are living worthy of it.
Hope everyone has a fantastic week!
