England - OCT 6th

Image
Great week this week! I got news that I will be going to England on October 6th. I am excited for it, but also am going to Miss Arizona.     Also this week, we were able to put Julie on Date to be Baptized for September 18th! We were able to put her on date in our second lesson with her.      This week we listened to a Missionary Devotional by Elder David A Bednar, and it was amazing! I love how bold he gets, especially with missionaries. I would love to get as bold as he gets, of course in a loving way. It really helped me to more fully understand that the Doctrine of Christ is literally the way we progress, and how important the Sacrament is.     We have had a lot of fun this week teaching and finding people to teach. Honestly, being a missionary is the best!      I don't have a ton of time, but it was a great week     Elder Wilhelmsen     1. Interviews 2. Handles Ice Cream 3. Our district out at lunch

Your Son's Mission In England

Dear Brother and Sister Wilhelmsen,   Our missionary roster shows that your son, Elder Cody Wilhelmsen, will arrive in our mission on 6 Oct. 2021.   I sent an information packet for him to your address.  Would you forward the parts that apply to him at his current mission address?    We look forward to his arrival in our mission and hope all is going well for him in Arizona.   Please let me know if you have any questions.   Regards, Elder Brian Hawkes Mission Secretary England Birmingham Mission

Dear Elder Wilhelmsen, Welcome to the England Birmingham Mission. We want you to know how excited we are you have been called by a living prophet to serve with us in this beautiful part of the Lord's vineyard. Congratulations on being worthy to receive this important call. We currently have a wonderful group of happy and hard-working missionaries. They are increasing the membership and strengthening the wards and branches in the ten stakes that cover our Mission both in England and Wales.  Please take care of any educational, military, personal or family matters before arriving in the field. You may want to consider contacting the Missionary Department to arrange to start your mission early if there are any conflicts with future dates. Enclosed are several items to help give you a feel for the area and the work here, as well as some suggestions to give you a head start when you arrive. It is of supreme importance that you prepare yourself to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. A fir...

Hearts Softened

Hey Everyone,      So in the past, we had quite a few people give us Anti-church literature, or bring it up in lessons and I had found myself almost trying to prove or convince the people we were teaching that it was true. As I was studying I learned something key. Between Matthew 7:29, and Jacob 7, and 2 Nephi 33:1 the spirit taught me something great. When you have the Authority, and teach with the Authority of Man, you try to convince others with your words. When you have Authority from God, you Teach Simple truths and testify, and "the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts". So I stopped trying to convince, and left that to the spirit. It's been awesome!     Going off that, we had a ton of cool Miracles this week! First off we were tracting on Friday, and we knocked on this one ladies door. One thing we have been doing, is not thinking of what we are going to say when they open the door to let the spirit guide. She opened the door, and I introd...

WHY I BELIEVE!

Hey, sorry I didn't write last week things have been way Busy!     This week I went on exchanges with my Zone leader Elder McKeon. It was so much fun. First, we were driving to a service in the morning and hit a bird. There is a thing here with the Pigeons, that they always stay on the road and then get out of the way just in time. Apparently one was a little slower. We nailed it so hard hahah. We also almost got a restraining order(not really, but let me explain).      Elder McKeons companion was on exchanges with another missionary earlier that week. While knocking doors they ran into someone named Kiarra, who was making dinner so they assumed she was the mom. Elder McKeon and I came back, and an 18 year old opened the door. We talked for a little bit, and then we were like, "Hey, so we were hoping we could talk to Kiarra. We met her the other day. Is she your mom?" He responded, "Why are you looking for my 15 year old sister. She's a Sophomore in High School...

Follow The Spirit

Hey, It has been a great week this week!     One cool miracle we had started because we wanted to make sure we talk to everyone while out and about. After knocking a door we were about to walk to the car, but I saw someone. We walked over to the guy having no idea what we were going to say. I opened my mouth, and what came out was, "That's a sick ride." The Holy Ghost knew him better than me I guess, because we started teaching him right there. We may start teaching the rest of his family on Tuesday!     Also it was transfers last week, and I am going to be finishing Elder Lowry's Training! I am excited for this Transfer. It's definitely a different dynamic having Elder Lowry and I being the only Elders in our District haha.     On Saturday night, we were driving home, and we happened to see someone at the Park. For some reason, as soon as we passed I felt prompted to turn around. We went back, and started talking to the guy at the park. He was super cool, ...
