Welcome To England Part 2

Dear Elder Wilhelmsen,

Welcome to the England Birmingham Mission. We want you to know how excited we are you have been called by a living prophet to serve with us in this beautiful part of the Lord's vineyard. Congratulations on being worthy to receive this important call. We currently have a wonderful group of happy and hard-working missionaries. They are increasing the membership and strengthening the wards and branches in the ten stakes that cover our Mission both in England and Wales. 

Please take care of any educational, military, personal or family matters before arriving in the field. You may want to consider contacting the Missionary Department to arrange to start your mission early if there are any conflicts with future dates.

Enclosed are several items to help give you a feel for the area and the work here, as well as some suggestions to give you a head start when you arrive. It is of supreme importance that you prepare yourself to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. A firm, unwavering testimony of the Saviour and His gospel is a necessity. A testimony of the Book of Mormon will not only benefit you but will allow you to bear testimony to those you will teach. Please complete and return the enclosed forms as soon as possible, providing information needed for emergencies and other purposes.

In the early days of the Restoration, the English and Welsh Saints were the backbone of the Church and the Birmingham Mission is steeped with inspirational stories of conversion and faith. We will share the stories of those pioneers with you but are desirous for you to have similar stories of faith and conversions to share from your own mission experiences.

The Lord will richly bless you as you humbly and prayerfully serve Him. More joy awaits you as you labour amoung His children.
