Grand Canyon
Hey everyone!
Had a great week not as packed as last week though.
We went to the Grand Canyon and it was awesome, we got close to some elk and almost got attacked. It was such a cool view, I would definitely recommend it to anyone that hasn't been. On Tuesday night the young men asked if we could come play hockey with them for their activity so we went and played with them. There is nothing like being humbled by a 12 year old that has played his whole life hahaha. It was super fun and the young men are super cool. We also woke up early and played Saturday morning.
We chopped wood for a crazy lady this week that fed us pizza. When I say pizza, I use the term very loosely. It looked like she had put everything in her pantry/garden into a bag and chose randomly. We came over to chop wood and accidentally ended up playing fear factor hahaha. For those that don't know, I'm a picky eater, so this was my worst nightmare. I just smiled and told her it was delicious.
Wednesday was interviews which was awesome, the president and Sister Eyre are so cool. President Eyre is so spiritual and funny, and huge into basketball so we had a lot to talk about hahah. Sister Eyre is so nice and you can tell she is a mom because she cares so much about how we are doing and if we are getting enough food.
Something cool that happened this week was we went to a younger couples house for dinner, and they had a 4 year old, 6 year old and 8 year old. I love kids so I was having fun making them laugh all of dinner and then for the lesson took a bunch of pepper on water in a glass bowl and said it was like sin. I used a toothpick with dish soap and explained it as the atonement. When you put the dish soap covered toothpick into the pepper it repels it. The kids went crazy and it was so funny. When we were leaving the 4 year old boy came up and hugged my leg and asked me not to leave. It was cool because when I was growing up we had some great missionaries that were super fun, and I still remember them. I was happy I could be that to someone else.
Sunday we had 6 lessons back to back so it was packed. In each one the spirit was so strong. I love this gospel so very much. Love you all.
Sincerely,
Elder Wilhelmsen
