I Made It!
Hey everybody,
I got to Arizona this week and a lot has happened.
On Tuesday we got to Arizona and went to have a huge dinner at the church right by the Arizona temple. It was so awesome and we met President and Sister Eyre. They are so cool! President Eyre is so cool to talk to because you can just feel that his spirit is so strong. Sister Eyre is like our mom out here and keeps asking if we are doing alright and need anything. There was 32 missionaries that came into the Phoenix mission on Tuesday so we had to stay in a hotel.
Wednesday we went to trainer/trainee orientation and it was awesome. I met my trainer, Elder McGuire and he is awesome. He's been out here for 21 months so I guess you could say he knows what he's doing hahaha. The whole day was basically training and driving up to our area. We are in the Prescott area which is super nice because it's cooler than the valley. The climate is like Boise so that was a blessing. We taught our first lesson with an interested person and it went pretty good. We think once she isn't injured she can come to church so we're excited for that.
On Thursday once we got to our apartment we were told that we had to move to a different one. The one they had been staying at has been used by missionaries so it was nasty as heck! The new one was brand new so we're enjoying it. I had my first member dinner on Thursday night. The members had their mother in law there and she had Alzheimer's. I was sitting next to her so while Elder McGuire was talking to the members I had to sit and talk to her while she asked me 9 times where I was from and told me the same 3 stories. I kept looking at the time and she talked to me about the same 3 things for 45 minutes, it was awesome tho.
Sunday I had to give a talk in my first sacrament meeting. It went pretty good and I was able to tell the ward why I went on a mission.
Today is P day so we're playing basketball and ping pong all day.
Spiritual thought:
This week it was cool because during my personal study I didn't know if I had enough time to read in the Book of Mormon but I felt like I should. I only got through 5 verses so I didn't think anything off it. That night when we taught a non member I had a feeling I should open to where I studied. The 5th verse went perfectly into what we were talking about and helped her a lot. It was so cool that the spirit gave me that prompting and so I could share that with her.
It's awesome out here and I'm loving it.
