Hammocking All Day

Hey everyone,

It's been a pretty packed week this week, but a lot of fun things happened!

On Monday we played the stake presidency in basketball and destroyed like I said last week. We then ended up going to taco bell 3 times that day! I felt so sick afterwards and vowed never to do it again.

On Tuesday, we had zone conference. It was a really spiritual day because we were learning so much with everything we did. Also we started saying a prayer before we would start trying to find people on Facebook. I had joined a bunch of groups and posted things in there about contacting us if they wanted to learn more about the gospel. That day I got a message from someone wanting to learn more from Kenya, Africa. We are going to try to teach him over zoom and see how that goes. It gave me such a testimony of the power of prayer in our lives.

Wednesday was a weird day, it started with seeing a crazy car crash on the side of the road. I'll attach pictures below, but there were probably 20 cop cars there and the car was destroyed. Later we were at the church building, and we heard some pounding on the door, which we thought was the other companionship in our apartment. We went to unlock the door and there were 3 police officers there. We opened the door and they came in and searched the building looking for someone. No one else was there, but I guess they had gotten an anonymous tip or something. It freaked me out hahaha.

Thursday and Friday were pretty uneventful but Saturday was a blast. We realized that all we had on Saturday was our studies and calling/texting people the whole day, so we got hammocks and had our day right next to a nearby lake! It was so beautiful and fun. We were able to do our missionary work, while being out in the woods, it was awesome. Also we found a snake so you know we had to take pictures of that hahaha.

Sunday was super spiritual because we had a lesson at a members house with their friend that is interested in the church. We were at the Rabers house and they are amazing member missionaries. We taught them the first lesson and I bore testimony of why I came on a mission and how I came to know the gospel is true. The spirit was so strong! Another cool thing happened. For those of you that don't know who Jevon Carter is, he's in the NBA and played basketball at West Virginia and was super good. In the comments of one of my Facebook posts to start talking to people, his mom responded and so I have been chatting with her on there. That is way cool because the NBA is my favorite.

Today is going to be a blast because on our P day today, we got permission to go to the Grand Canyon! So we are driving up there right now. Pictures and stories of the Grand Canyon will come next week! Thanks to everyone for the emails, I really appreciate them!
